Stacie Ford of Stacie Ford Weddings did Connie’s make-up, the beautiful bride in our “Connie and Peter” gallery. Throughout the evening, Connie was radiant and glowing, staying beautiful even after rigorous family hugging, being hoisted on a chair during the hora, and transitioning from a fiancé to a bride.

Every bride, (and bride’s maids) should get professionally made-up. No matter how beautiful you are naturally, photographs turn a three-dimensional being like yourself into a two-dimensional flat image. Make-up adds depth, ensuring that you’ll look your best in your wedding photos.

Below, Stacie offers some advice for the bride-to-be.

How did you get started? What brought you to make-up artistry for weddings?

I started doing makeup at an early age, and was extremely interested in the craft and started assisting other major make-up artists in the industry. I started off doing a few weddings for friends and family and then fell in love with the wedding world, I was quickly noticed, and here I am!

What can the bride do to prepare before the wedding so her skin is in the best shape possible before you work with her?

The best thing that a soon-to-be bride can do to have amazing skin is to hydrate, drink lots of water every day, stay out of the sun, exfoliate, use a good face serum, moisturizer and eye cream, and of course…no champagne or wine the night before!

Why do you think professional make-up is essential for the bride? Is it something people can do on their own?

All brides should look amazing on their big day. Hiring a professional make-up artist will not only make you look and feel your best, but it will take the stress out of having to do it yourself. It’s your day and moment to shine and to be pampered, leave it to the pros!

How can a bride (and her bridesmaids) stay beautiful throughout the evening and keep the look you work so hard to give them?

Having an essential touch-up kit ready to go is key. A soon-to-be bride’s essentials include blotting papers, Q-tips, tissues, mini hairbrush and hair spray, wedding lip color and blush. These key items should get everyone through the night and keep the face looking fresh and flawless.

Any other advice to stay beautiful?

Just love yourself and each other and enjoy this thing called marriage. Your wedding day passes in the blink of an eye, savor each moment and remember it, that’s what is beautiful…you!
